Kindness

Stories of random acts of kindness always fill our hearts; a few months ago, a man offered to pay for Jeanie Reichert’s basket of groceries – So she is paying it forward.

George, South Africa (19 July 2024) — Last month, Jeanie Reichert received an act of kindness. A kind stranger ahead of her in the queue asked to pay for her basket of groceries. She was absolutely blown away by this man’s generosity; she told him she planned to share thanks by paying it forward.

When speaking to Jeanie, she shared that her basket contained some meat, coffee and diabetic jam. She was at the Checkers in George when the moment happened.

When she asked the kind stranger why he was doing this, he said because he could. This inspired her to do the same.

“I was overwhelmed and grateful by this kindness”

Jeanie has paid the kindness forward, choosing people who are regularly spotted near her village’s supermarket, and she has taken to offering them food.

What was once a quick stop at the shops to get a few essentials has borne a spree of kindness.

Jeanie’s story is one of many that we have shared over the years and it always highlights how small acts make such a big difference in the lives of others.
