Abriella Bredell, a ten-year-old from Jeffreys Bay is planning to swim the Robben Island Channel to raise money for the Red Cross Children’s hospital.
Abriella Bredell has a passion for making a difference and to do this, she is planning to swim for charity. She wants to help children and is donating any money she raises to the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
Open water swimming is one of her favourite things to do. She also credits herself as being competitive and wants to use those attributes to work at swimming the Robben Island Channel. Starting at the island Abriella will swim across to Blouberg Beach.
“My ultimate goal in swimming is to practise hard and to swim the Robben Island Channel with my coach, Brenton Williams. My favourite stroke is the butterfly, but I think my first Robben Island crossing will be freestyle.”
