The Robin Hood Foundation’s Christmas elves showed up for grannies and grandpas in Amanzimtoti on Friday! Their smiles and happy faces said everything.

Amanzimtoti, South Africa (15 December 2025) – Last week, the Robin Hood Foundation made its 16th visit to the grannies and grandpas of Jabulani Senior Citizens Residence in Amanzimtoti, and they arrived with all the festive spoils!

The team pulled through with more than 75 beautifully packed gift bags, each one filled with toiletries, sweets, snacks and small spoils that brought a little bit of Christmas joy to elderly residents.

The festive season is often one of the loneliest times of year for the elderly living in senior residence – every visit and kind gesture makes this period a little brighter for them.

“Monday’s visit to Jabulani Home was pure sunshine from beginning to end! We arrived with over 75 beautifully packed gift bags, all thanks to the incredible students, teachers and families of Thomas More College” shares the Robin Hood Foundation.

Every gift was made possible by a civvies day fundraiser carried by the students, teachers and families of Thomas More College, who rallied together and showed up for grannies and grandpas they’ve never even met.

“The grannies and grandpas were so grateful for their gifts. The smiles, the hugs, the laughter… it was a morning overflowing with warmth and genuine connection.” shares the foundation.

It mattered. The residents of Jabulani received love, care and connection. Letting them know that they are seen, valued and remembered will go a long way through the festive period.

Plus, it’s inspiring. Even ordinary people like you and I can make this kind of difference. Find your nearest old-age home. Pay a visit. Bring along books you’d like to pass on. Perhaps a sweet treat. Have a tea and a chat. These small gestures make a massive difference!
