Cradle BMX Club in Gauteng will welcome Africa’s top riders later this year as they battle for continental titles in one of the sport’s biggest events.
South Africa (10 August 2026) – Africa’s top BMX riders are heading to South Africa later this year after the country was awarded the honour of hosting the 2026 CAC BMX Racing African Continental Championships.
The prestigious continental event will take place at Cradle BMX Club in Kromdraai, Gauteng, on 29 November, with riders from across Africa competing for the coveted African champion titles.
The championships will feature the continent’s best talent across multiple categories, including Elite, Under-23, Junior and Challenge divisions, with competitors ranging from six years old to seasoned international riders.
Cycling South Africa says hosting the championships is a major boost for the local BMX community and an opportunity to showcase the country’s world-class facilities and passionate cycling culture.
BMX Commissioner Lorette Robertson described the event as a proud milestone, saying South Africa is ready to welcome Africa’s finest riders and deliver a championship worthy of the occasion.
The event is expected to attract riders representing their countries from across the continent, while local supporters will have the chance to cheer on Team South Africa on home soil.
Titles will be on the line and a home crowd to support them.
