South Africa (12 August 2026)- South Africa’s winter weather has been serving up some seriously snowy scenes, from roads covered in white to content creators turning the mountains into their own winter wonderland. Here are three clips that caught our attention:

When the Snow Closes the Roads

The N2/R56 towards Kokstad was blanketed in snow, with authorities announcing the closure of several major routes after consulting with the relevant road agencies. Definitely a reminder that when the snow arrives, things can get tricky very quickly.

Snow in South Africa is Crazy

One content creator decided to embrace the conditions and head up into the mountains, taking in the snowy scenery along the way. And honestly, the views are doing most of the talking.

Christmas Movie Vibes

Another creator found themselves surrounded by snow while travelling through the mountains and scene looked straight out of a Christmas movie.
