8-time Olympic Gold medalist Usain Bolt received a very special pair of PUMA running shoes from some very special people, as he prepares for the final race of his professional career.
Wellesley and Jennifer Bolt surprised their son in London to hand over the Bolt Legacy Spikes, ahead of the IAAF World Athletics Championships, where he will be competing for the very last time.
The shoes have been made exclusively for the London event and feature design details from key moments in Bolt’s running journey. The right shoe is in the purple and green from William Knibb High School, where he started on the track, while the left shoe is gold, which speaks for itself.
Bolt is odds-on favourite to win a fourth World Championships gold in the 100m on Saturday, while he will also compete in the Men’s 4x100m relay.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s Wayde van Niekerk will be looking to obtain the elusive 200-400m double in the England capital.
