Caitlin Rooskrantz has earned a gold medal in Cairo at the 2022 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup for her work on the uneven bars.
Cairo, Egypt (22 March 2022) – Caitlin Rooskrantz started gymnastics at the age of seven and now represents South Africa on the global stage. She recently competed at the 2022 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup and earned herself a gold medal.
The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) held the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, this year. The event started on the 24th of February 2022 and is hosted in various countries until later this year, the 9th of October 2022.
Caitlin Rooskrantz and Naveen Daries, along with coach Ilse Pelser were in Cairo flying the South African flag high. They were at the Cairo event which took place from the 17th to the 20th of March. It was during this event that Caitlin won gold.

According to New Frame, Caitlin made history in 2019 when she became the first South African to win a gold at an international gymnastics competition. She won the gold at the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships for the uneven bars.
Future events in the World Cup are set to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan from the 31st of March 2022 to the 4th of April 2022. Then after a brief break, the World Challenge Cup Series kicks off from the 26th of May. Countries playing host to the events include France, Hungary, Croatia and Turkey to name a few.
