The Netball South Africa team is excited to be heading to the Commonwealth Games 2022 and hopes to make South Africa proud of their efforts.
South Africa (25 July 2022) – It’s a big sports week in the lead-up to the Commonwealth Games 2022, taking place in Birmingham, United Kingdom, from the 28th of July to the 8th of August 2022. In the lead-up to the big event, we are looking at all the proudly South African teams flying the flag high on the other side of the world.
Next on the list is Netball South Africa. The ladies will play in several matches, and we cannot wait to hear the outcome! The team is excited to be at the event. They will play in Group A, competing against Australia, Jamaica, Scotland, Wales and Barbados. Group B consists of New Zealand, England, Malawi, Uganda, Trinidad & Tobago and Northern Ireland.
The top two countries from each group will qualify for the netball semi-finals, which will be held on 6 August, with the medals matches on 7 August.
Team South Africa’s netballers are captained by the experienced Bongi Msomi, and they also have a strong squad of 12 that will be competing for the medals.
