Jo Keppler isn’t just running against the clock; she’s running toward a world where the ‘dignity gap’ no longer exists for 26 promising KZN students ready to claim their bright future.

Midlands, South Africa (05 March 2026) – This March, Jo Keppler is taking on a bold mission for a beautiful cause. She will be running 26 km every single day for 26 days to change 26 futures!

“I am taking on the ‘Power of 26’ challenge, running 26km every single day for 26 days (a total of 676km!) to bridge the dignity gap for 26 students through the Amathuba Foundation,” Jo shares.

The Amathuba Foundation walks alongside promising young students who have received sponsorship to attend top high schools in KZN. These students often face significant challenges as they navigate the gap between their home and school environments.

Amathuba provides personalised mentorship to each student, offering guidance, support, and encouragement throughout their high school journey and during their transition into university – empowering them to succeed both academically and personally.

“There is a critical gap for bursary and scholarship students between high school and tertiary education, where many talented Amathuba students find themselves stuck. So, I am putting my body on the line to ensure these students have the mentorship and resources they need to thrive,” Jo says.

The runner is hoping to raise R260,000 (or more) for the Foundation, so that it can provide the support that these young men and women need.

And she’s inviting the community to join in on the fun by pledging as little as R2.60 per day or more to support Amathuba or by lacing up to hit the road alongside her.

“You can join me on one of my 26km runs around the Midlands. I’ll be running 26 km each day around the Midlands, but you don’t have to! Each day will be hosted at a different location, with shorter laps so walkers and runners can join in for one lap or a few kilometres.”

Every step helps move a future forward. You can follow and support the journey by checking out Jo’s calendar or donating here.
