Kirsten Landman celebrated her 33rd birthday with the announcement of her Dakar comeback after taking 2024 off.

South Africa (09 May 2024) – 2024 has been Kirsten Landman’s year to get physically and mentally strong so she could come back to Dakar in 2025 and make it her best one yet! She used her 33rd birthday to announce her return to the ‘Original by Motul’ category in 2025! Also, happy birthday!!!

South Africa’s most formidable woman on two wheels, Kirsten Landman, has announced her campaign for the Dakar Rally 2025 in Saudi Arabia. Landman will again take on the ‘Original by Motul’ category after her stellar performance in the same category in 2023.

Landman, who had planned to race in this year’s event, suffered several physical and mental blows in 2023, including a pulmonary embolism, and decided to sit it out for her best interest.

“Last year presented me with some of the toughest mental and physical challenges I’ve ever faced. It was heartbreaking not to stand on the start line in 2024 knowing how much I want to be there and achieve an even stronger result,” says Landman.

Now she’s even hungrier for a return to the dunes and race amongst some of the toughest motorsports athletes in the world.

“The Dakar Rally isn’t just a race for me. It’s where I feel most alive, where I challenge myself beyond limits, and where I continue to chase my dreams.”

“As one of the few women in this sport, I’m not just racing for myself—I’m racing for every girl out there who dreams of defying expectations.”

Landman is looking for sponsors who support her mission to break barriers and inspire the next generation of female athletes to come on board and help her conquer the challenges of Dakar 2025.
