Cycling and athletics are now on the cards, and already our athletes are bringing home the medals for these events; we add another four medals to our total.
Birmingham, South Africa (04 August 2022) – South African athletes have added another four medals to the medal collection, pushing the overall total to 20. We love watching these athletes succeed in their sporting goals.
South Africa currently has six gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals at the time of writing this. These were earned by the cycling, lawn bowls and athletics teams. These are the winners of medals from Day 6 of the Commonwealth Games.
- Charl du Toit – Men’s T37/38 100m – Silver
- Akani Simbine – Men’s 100m – Silver
- Candice Lill – Cycling – Mountain Bike – Women’s Cross-country – Bronze
- Desiree Levin and Victoria van der Merwe – Para Women’s Pairs B6-B8 – Bronze
Day 7 continues with cycling events and athletics, so we are very excited to see what the day has in store for our athletes. You can also expect events in badminton, boxing, cricket, hockey, lawn bowls, gymnastics and table tennis. It is a jam-packed day!
