A video shared by AmaFansWethu shows how one fan’s live commentary helped two visually impaired supporters follow the action and enjoy the atmosphere of a football match.

Johannesburg, South Africa (29 October 2026) – Watching football from the stands is about more than the 90 minutes on the pitch. There are the chants and, of course, the conversations about every pass and missed opportunity.

But for two visually impaired supporters at a recent match between Kaizer Chiefs and TS Galaxy, following the action required a little help.

A video shared by AmaFansWethu captures a supporter providing commentary for the pair, describing what was happening on the pitch as the game unfolded.

The clip offers a glimpse of how a simple gesture can make a difference to someone’s match-day experience, helping ensure that the excitement of live football is not limited to those who can see every moment.

While commentators help television and radio audiences follow a match, spectators inside a stadium do not necessarily have access to that same commentary. For someone with a visual impairment, having a person nearby describe the movement of the ball, the players and key moments can help make the live experience more accessible.

And that is what makes this particular moment worth sharing.
