The Proteas are feeling victorious after their semi-final win against Afghanistan at the World T20; the question now is whether they will face India or England in the final?
Global (27 June 2024) – The Proteas went up against Afghanistan in the World T20 semi-finals, winning their place in the final. It was a bowler’s game, with the team powering through 9 wickets with 67 balls to go. This moment was huge for the Proteas as they made their way to the finals for the first time in a very, very long time.
The team has had a tough decade, but a comeback is in the making right here, thanks to the perfect mix of team camaraderie, player talent, coaching staff, and national support.
The match, which took part in the very early hours of Thursday morning, was played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago. Afghanistan elected to bat, and the game began.
This is the first time the Proteas have made it to the finals, a history-making moment for the team! They are heading off to Barbados now to get ready for the big day!
