The Dakar Rally is already well underway, with stage 3 taking place as we type; these are the South Africans representing us in 2025.

Bisha, Suadi Arabia (07 January 2025) – The 2025 Dakar Rally is in its 3rd stage at the time of writing this, and the drivers and riders are braving challenging conditions to earn their places in each stage. Travelling from Bisha to Shubaytah, the next two weeks see them tackle almost 8,000 kilometres.

This year, the harrowing 48h chrono stage was bumped up to the first part of the race and leads almost directly into the marathon stage, which will begin to shape the outcome of the event. And that’s just the first week!

In the second week, riders and drivers will face the “Empty Quarter”, filled with wild sand dunes set to test their skills to the limit.

The final podium is in Shubaytah on 17th January.
