The South African Men’s Hockey team earned the bronze medal at the FIH Nations Cup Tournament with a 4 – 3 against Pakistan.
Gniezno, Poland (12 June 2024) – The South African Hockey Men’s team were in Poland to compete at the FIH Hockey Men’s Nations Cup, which ran from the 31st of May 2024 to the 9th of June 2024. They finished the tournament earning the Bronze Playoff against Pakistan.
With the tournament behind them, the Olympic-qualified team will be focusing on the next big event, which is the Paris Olympics. They are ready to fly the flag against the world’s best teams and we cannot wait!
As for the FIH Nations Cup, the team went up against Pakistan for the bronze playoff and won 4 – 3 with Mustapha Cassiem scoring 2 of the 4 goals and earning player of the match.
The team consists of players from around South Africa, so tournaments like this are essential because it gives them the chance to play together. Which is even more important in an Olympics year.
