From Colombo to Rawalpindi, South African cricket is alive with the Proteas Women stretching their winning streak at the World Cup, while the Proteas Men level their Test series against Pakistan.

Global (24 October 2025) – It’s a great week to be a Proteas fan. Both the South African men’s and women’s cricket teams are flying the flag high on international duty.

In Colombo, the Proteas Women continued their sensational run at the Women’s ODI World Cup, claiming their fifth straight win. Captain Laura Wolvaardt has been leading by example, and that game against Pakistan was no different. A superb 90 off the top, guiding the team to an imposing total of 312–9 in a rain-affected 40-over match. Despite the stop-start nature of the game, the Proteas never lost focus, restricting Pakistan to just 83–7 to seal a commanding 150-run victory.

For Laura and her team, it’s about momentum, confidence, and proving that South Africa’s women belong among the world’s best. Next up, they will face Australia this weekend in what promises to be another thrilling contest.

Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, the Proteas Men are also putting in a strong shift in the second Test against Pakistan. Spinner Simon Harmer turned up the pressure with three early wickets, while Senuran Muthusamy and Kagiso Rabada impressed with the bat, scoring 89 and 71 respectively to hand South Africa a solid first-innings lead.

The team will be looking to finish strong as they shift gears for the T20 series starting on Tuesday, bringing the same energy and resilience that’s defined their tour so far.
