International (17 November 2025) – South Africa had plenty to smile about this past weekend, with several national teams producing standout performances across rugby, football, and cricket. From historic wins to title defences, they showed talent and that uniquely South African spark. Here’s a quick roundup of who delivered the goods.
Springbok Women’s Sevens: African Champions Again
The Springbok Women’s Sevens dominated the Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens Cup in Nairobi, claiming the title without conceding a single point. They wrapped up the final with a confident 22–0 win over Kenya after cruising past Ghana and Madagascar earlier in the day.
The result also books their place in the eight-team Division Three Challenger event in Dubai next January.

Springboks: A 14-Man Masterclass in Turin
The Springboks delivered a 32–14 win over Italy despite playing almost the entire match with 14 men. A red card to Franco Mostert in the 12th minute put them under huge pressure, but the team held firm and refused to fade.
Even when Italy closed the gap to a single point and the Boks briefly dropped to 13 men but still managed to claim a victory.

Proteas Men: Historic Test Victory in India
The Proteas secured their first Test win in India since 2010, pulling off a tense 30-run victory in a low-scoring thriller in Kolkata. Despite trailing on first innings, they turned the game around and defended a small target with precision.
India were bowled out for 93 in their chase of 124, with Simon Harmer delivering a standout performance.
