This throwback video captures a young Sacha giving thanks to his coaches and teammates, a moment we now reflect on after his record-breaking 37-point display.
South Africa (30 September 2025) – Back in 2015, 13-year-old Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu stood in front of his Bishops Diocesan under-13 teammates, their parents, and coaches, confidently delivering an end-of-season speech. Mixing gratitude and humour, he thanked his teammates for their hard work, remembered the team songs that carried them through long bus rides, and acknowledged the coaches and parents who shaped their journey. The signs were there! He was more than just a talented young rugby player. Also a leader with vision and respect for the game.
Fast forward a decade later, that same young man is making history on rugby’s grandest stage.
On Saturday in Durban, Sacha delivered a performance for the ages, scoring 37 points in South Africa’s 67–30 victory over Argentina in the Castle Lager Rugby Championship. His tally, which included a hat-trick of tries, is now the highest ever scored by a Springbok in a single Test match.

The significance of the achievement cannot be overstated. A player carving out his Springbok career placed his name into the record books. His performance powered the Springboks to the top of the Championship table with one match to play.

And yet, watching that throwback video from 2015, there is something fitting about it all. The young boy who stood tall to thank his teammates and celebrate unity has grown into a man doing the very same on the international stage. This reminds us that the signs of greatness are there long before reaching bigger stages.
