A soccer boot and sneaker donation for a local soccer club that supports underprivileged children brought so much joy and will go on to gift hundreds of hours of entertainment this December.
Johannesburg, South Africa (18 November 2024) – For young children living in townships – after school and all weekend long, is soccer time. Charity Begins With Me‘s (CBWM) Stephen Ferreira got a massive soccer boot donation recently and the handout was the best thing!
Play It Forward Jozi collected soccer boots and sneakers for the children at CBWM and delivered the donations to a very excited group of kids.
“Play It Forward” is a student-founded organisation collecting sporting equipment for underprivileged children and teens. Ross Garrett teamed up with his school friends in 2018 to make a difference in underprivileged communities when he was in primary school. The charity still collects second-hand sporting equipment that is sent to underprivileged children, schools and sporting clubs. They collect takkies and sports shoes, racquets, bats, hockey sticks, golf clubs, gloves and balls. You name a sport, and they will happily collect for that.
Organisations like Charity Begins With Me rely on donations of all kinds, and the soccer boot donation will go a very long way in bringing joy this holiday season. Once schools close, the children who got shoes will have very good reasons to go out and play soccer with friends.
