Springboks look to take their winning momentum further with matches against Japan, France, Italy, Ireland, and Wales.
Wembley, United Kingdom (31 October 2025) – Fresh off their back-to-back triumph in the Castle Lager Rugby Championship, the Springboks are gearing up for an exciting end-of-year tour in Europe. The Springboks are gearing up for a big end-of-year tour, kicking things off against Japan at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, 1 November. From there, they’ll tackle a string of tough Tests across Europe, taking on France, Italy, Ireland, and Wales in iconic stadiums, all broadcast live on SuperSport.
Coach Rassie Erasmus admits it won’t be easy, with five high-quality matches back-to-back, but he’s excited to see how the team measures up against some of the world’s best. He highlighted the hard work put in since the Castle Lager Rugby Championship and believes the squad’s previous exposure to European conditions (whether through the URC or overseas club experience) will be a huge advantage.

“We are excited about the tour and to measure ourselves against some of the best teams in the world.”
Springbok centre Jesse Kriel, who plays for Japan’s Canon Eagles, is bracing for a competitive opener. He points out that the familiarity between some South African and Japanese players from the local league adds an interesting dynamic to the clash. Kriel, along with Grant Williams, emphasised the need for a strong start to set the tone for the rest of the tour.
“It’s going to be a tough game, and the key for us is to set the tone early with a high standard of rugby.”
While results will be watched closely, the focus is also on building momentum and fine-tuning the team’s game ahead of 2026. The Springboks’ journey through Europe promises plenty of exciting rugby, with each stadium offering a new challenge and a chance to showcase the World Champions’ talent on the international stage.
