Tayler Scott is flying the South African flag high over in the United States; he recently made his 2023 baseball debut playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers!
Los Angeles, United States (05 June 2023) – Tayler Scott’s career has taken off! The talented baseball star started with his roots in South Africa, now they are taking root on the baseball mounds of America. While he may be living his dream in the USA, Tayler is still a South African at heart!
Tayler relocated from Johannesburg at the young age of 16 to go and build his career. While Tayler lives and plays in the States, he sometimes spends his offseason living at home in South Africa. The family relocated Tayler so he could follow his dream of playing professional baseball. He confirmed that they sacrificed a lot for his dream, and he will always honour that.
We first caught up with him in 2018, when his career was just starting out in American baseball overseas. Now today, his career is booming and he is playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Tayler Scott made history by becoming the first South African baseball pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) and Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).
He recently made his 2023 season debut with the Dodgers in late May. He signed a minor-league contract in January 2023 but after proving his power as a pitcher, was drafted up to the Major Leagues.
Tayler loves South Africa so much, he proudly wears South African beads and he had the South African flag added to his baseball glove. He shared the awesome picture below on his Instagram account. You can follow him here.
