Donned in green and exuding talent, rising singer Talitha Luiters was the voice that captivated over 56,000 fans with her powerful rendition of the national anthem at the opening of Saturday’s Springbok game.
Cape Town, South Africa (25 August 2025) – Rising Cape Town musician, Talitha Luiters, got to experience what will easily go down as one of her most memorable performances in her career over the weekend.
In front of a crowd of 56,350 fans at Cape Town’s DHL Stadium, Talitha had the honour of singing the national anthem ahead of the highly anticipated Springboks vs Australia game.
Dressed in an elegant green gown and with her microphone in hand, the singer delivered a beautiful rendition of the song that pays homage to our land and brings all South Africans together. Her beautifully controlled tones showcased a deep pride in every note.
Just by the footage shared by SuperSport, there’s no disputing that her performance was a moment of honour and pride not just for her, but the players and audience as a whole.
“What an experience!! It still feels so unreal,” Thalitha shared.
Thalita is said to be the youngest person to ever sing the South African national anthem at a Springbok game and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity.
“This was a very big moment. No one would understand because my manager and I did this and got this far by ourselves, and the grace of God. I have no words. Thank you to everyone, to our supporters. I literally thank God for everything,” she said, still taking in the unforgettable moment.
More than just a career-defining moment, Talitha’s national rugby performance debut also set the tone for an incredible game, which saw the Bokke restore Mzansi’s pride and spirit when they emerged victorious against the Wallabies, retaining the Mandela Challenge Plate.
Talitha, you honoured the anthem, the nation and its people with your voice, and it’s that very talent and grace that will carry you to even greater heights.
