What starts out looking like a horror film… turns into a poignant story about the plight of many African children. And then leaves us with a powerful message.
South Africa (05 August 2020) – 11 incredibly creative students from “The Animation School” crafted a short-story called “Sugarcane Man” that will give you with chills and leave you with a powerful message.
Situated in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa, The Animation School offers a three-year full-time Animation Diploma. Since its launch in 2000, the school has established itself as the leading specialist animation training institution in Africa. Its students consistently win top honours at various international award ceremonies, and its graduates have been employed by leading studios.
What starts out looking like an animated horror short-film crafted by 11 incredibly talented South African students… turns into a poignant story about the plight of many African children. And then leaves us all with a powerful message.
