Planning a wedding these days can be quite stressful but fear not, there are four simple steps you can follow to be sure your big day is the best (and safest).

Even the best-laid out plans have gone completely to waste, and many happy couples from all over the country have been forced to either cancel or postpone their weddings. But with the country moving to Level 2 restrictions, many South Africans are slowly beginning to enjoy a little more freedom compared to when we were under Level 5. One of the restrictions being eased now is that on weddings. So, if you and your partner would like to go ahead and start planning your big day -here is what you need to know.
Choosing the dream location
One of the great benefits of our new Level 2 regulation is the fact that we are now able to travel anywhere in the country. This means couples are now free to choose any dreamy location they want. For those who would like to celebrate their big day in KwaZulu-Natal, BON Hotel Empangeni is a great place to celebrate such a joyous occasion. Situated in the heart of the town’s business district, half-way between Durban and Swaziland and 15km from Richards Bay, this hotel is a great place to say “I Do.” The hotel also has a beautiful Koi pond, which is a perfect spot to capture some family portraits. Plan ahead
With curfews and social distancing still very much in play, make time to plan the big day with your support team. Get all your bridesmaids involved in one big Zoom chat, making sure everyone has a ready supply of snacks and drinks. Play music in the background to set the scene for some fun. This is also a great way for you to brainstorm themes and other ideas you may be considering for your big day. You could also just use this time to catch up with your besties from the safety of your home.
Know the regulations off by heart
With lockdown at Level 2, you and your partner should know the do’s and don’ts off by heart. This means making sure that everyone invited to the wedding abides by the rules at all times. One of these rules is not having more than 50 people at an event and practising social distancing at all times. This is something important to keep in mind when deciding whom to include. Another important rule to remember is that no one is allowed to be out on the roads after 10 PM. So, choosing a hotel as the venue for the wedding reception would be a good idea so that everyone can stay over at the property.

Lastly, the most important thing to remember during this unprecedented time is to bring along all the safety equipment you need. Make sure that everyone at the wedding is practising their social distancing and sanitizing their hands regularly and whenever visiting a new place.
