Learners at Woodridge College fully embraced the spirit of May the Fourth with a fun and unexpected Star Wars performance during assembly.
Gqeberha, South Africa (08 May 2026) – What started off as an ordinary school assembly at Woodridge College and Preparatory School quickly turned into a full-blown Star Wars celebration when students unexpectedly took over the hall with dramatic movie quotes and plenty of theatrical flair.
In a fun video shared by the school, learners suddenly began delivering iconic lines from the legendary sci-fi franchise during assembly, catching classmates completely off guard as the “normal” gathering transformed into a galaxy far, far away.
The school embraced the fun in true Star Wars style, captioning the clip: “A normal assembly… until the Force took over.”
The surprise performance formed part of the global “May the Fourth” celebrations, the unofficial Star Wars holiday inspired by the famous phrase, “May the Force be with you.”
Judging by the dramatic delivery and full commitment from the students, Woodridge College and Preparatory School might just be preparing its next generation of theatre stars as well.
