A heartfelt meeting of two like-minded organisations, uniting to create meaningful impact and celebrating and learning from each other’s incredible work.
Johannesburg, South Africa (25 March 2026) – A meeting of like minds brought warmth, compassion, and blankets together recently, when Woodrock Animal Rescue visited the home of Carolyn Steyn.
The occasion was a special lunch at her beautiful Sharolyn home, joined by Stella Meldau and Jacqui Martheze, celebrating the shared mission of giving back. Woodrock arrived with a small but meaningful donation: blankets in support of 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day, a movement founded by Steyn in 2013 that continues to uplift communities and inspire collective care.
What started as a simple gathering quickly turned into a moment of connection, creativity, and shared purpose. The two teams expressed admiration for each other work, with initiatives that have captured the attention of South Africans and international supporters.
67 Blankets has grown into more than just a charitable project, it’s become a movement. Each blanket represents love, warmth, and community spirit, and initiatives like this one show how even small acts can create ripples of change.
We can’t wait to see the next chapter of collaboration between these organisations, spreading warmth and care across South Africa.
