Kindness Like Confetti will be supporting the women living at the Frida Hartley Women Shelter in Yeoville for World Homeless Day.
Johannesburg, South Africa (17 September 2020) – Kindness Like Confetti Johannesburg is working to support the residents of the Frida Hartley Women Shelter in Yeoville for World Homeless Day. World Homeless Day is on the 10th of October 2020 and it celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
The Inaugural World Homeless Day was marked on the 10th of October 2010. It emerged from online discussions between people working to respond to homelessness from various parts of the world. Since its founding, World Homeless Day has been observed on every continent except Antarctica.
The purpose of World Homeless Day is to draw attention to homeless people’s needs locally and provide opportunities for the community to get involved in responding to homelessness while taking advantage of the stage an ‘international day’ provides.
The Frida Hartley Shelter is home to destitute women and children. The shelter takes in homeless women and their children who have endured neglect, abuse, trauma and homelessness. They offer shelter to individuals who have lost their jobs and are struggling to make ends meet; young homeless mothers looking to kick-start their lives; and individuals going through financial difficulties (affected by retrenchment or unemployment).
Now more than ever, the shelter needs support. That is why Kindness Like Confetti is supporting them for World Homeless Day.

- Face Cream
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrush
- Sanitary Pads
- An Item of Makeup
- A Toiletry Bag
