Museums aren’t for kids? Think again! This Saturday, Zeitz MOCCA’s Centre for Art Education is putting children’s stories in the spotlight with the launch of And So The Stories Ran Away:
Cape Town, South Africa (19 July 2024)—Art and language have always had an understanding; each inspiring the other and drawing from the other’s perspectives. Ever apparent in places like children’s stories, where words and illustrations team up to spark joy, curiosity, understanding and new revelations in young minds, it only makes sense that story books should take up more space in art museums!
This is exactly what the contemporary art museum Zeitz MOCCA’s Centre for Art Education is doing this Saturday, thanks to a unique showcase dedicated to children’s stories.
‘And So The Stories Ran Away’ stands out as an exciting way to get little ones into the culture of visiting museums early, all whilst honouring the art of storytelling.
The four stories set to be showcased in ‘And So The Stories Ran Away’ are all written by Meridian Berndt and are illustrated by artists Jax Lamb Jill Joubert, designer Mandy Wamono and Meridian Berndt.
