Sienna, a sweet and playful dog, has been waiting… and waiting… and waiting. For over 1000 days, in fact. This gentle soul dreams of having a family and a place to share all her love.

Knysna, South Africa (05 February 2025) – Over 1,000 days. That is how long poor doggo Sienna has been waiting for her forever home at the Knysna Animal Welfare Society (KAWS) simply because she’s considered an oldie past her bouncy youthful years.

The 31st of January marked 1000 days, 2.7 years, 32 months and 143 weeks since she had been taken in by the animal welfare heroes at the shelter.

“In this time, not a single application has come in for her—not because of any fault of her own, but simply because she’s considered “too old” at six years old, no longer the youthful, fluffy puppy that many look for,” KAWS shared.

The special girl is a kind, loving, gentle, and playful soul, bursting with personality and desperately yearning for a family to call her own!

According to KAWS, Sienna is fully trained and easy to manage.

“She walks beautifully on a lead, making her the perfect companion for any household.

“Sienna embodies the classic dog traits—she thrives in a home without cats and gets along wonderfully with teenagers.”

She is yearning for the life-changing moment a family walks through the KAWS doors and not only sees her but chooses her to be their furry friend for keeps!

To spare Sienna a further prolonged stay at the kennels, call 044 384 1603 or visit KAWS’ Facebook page or website.
