Woodrock Animal Rescue, together with the Animal Justice League, will be providing essential care to 250 pets and a little something special for furbabies in dire need in the community of Olivienthoutbos.
Gauteng, South Africa (19 August 2025) – The furry community of Olivienthoutbos is about to be enveloped in a wave of love and animal care.
On 6 September, Woodrock Animal Rescue and Animal Justice League will host a mass outreach event in the area where 250 residents’ pets will receive free health checks and parasite treatment, such as deworming and rabies vaccinations.
The event aims to encourage responsible pet ownership and to have pet owners register their furbabies for sterilisation to address unwanted litters at the source.
To make the initiative even more special, custom-built kennels, lovingly crafted and personalised with a name and message by the learners of King David School LinksfIeld for Woodrock, will be distributed in Olivienthoutbos on the day.
“These weren’t just kennels; they were little homes filled with care. And now, with tails wagging and hearts full, the dogs who once snuggled inside them have all found their forever families! So, what’s next? We’re PAYING IT FORWARD!
“These beautiful kennels will be delivered to dogs, offering comfort, protection, and love to pets in the community. What a joy to give, what a gift to receive, and what a way to spread kindness,” Woodrock Animal Rescue shared.
Animals in urgent need of these kennels have already been identified, and these animal heroes cannot wait to get them into the disadvantaged homes where other dogs can take up residence in these kennels of love.
Through such outreach initiatives, Woodrock and the Animal Justice League are extending care, kindness and compassion with every visit, every conversation, and every moment spent with those in need.
“Our clinic is proud to walk alongside our community, offering support, comfort, and a helping hand wherever it is needed most.”
Donations of dog collars, leashes, bowls, toys or any other pet items are welcome. To get involved, email hello@woodrockanimalrescue.co.za
