Ending Women’s Month on a high and meaningful note, the Angel Network Durban held a final outreach event in Wentworth to address the scourge of period poverty and empower young women with dignity and confidence.

Wentworth, South Africa (01 September 2025) – As Women’s Month came to an end last week, the Angel Network Durban wrapped it up in the best way: with purpose and heart!

The Angel Network Durban provides thousands of schoolgirls with sanitary pads, who otherwise would miss up to 80 days of school each year. As part of its most recent outreach campaign to deliver essential sanitary wear in communities grappling with period poverty, Angel Network’s final visit was held in Wentworth, Durban.

“We had the privilege of connecting with an incredible group of young ladies. The Angel Network Durban gifted each one with a hamper filled with toiletries and SUBZ reusable pads – empowering them with essentials for dignity and confidence.”

The girls were also treated to sponsored makeup goodies and inspired by a talk from Mrs KwaZulu-Natal, who shared words of encouragement and strength that truly resonated with everyone.

This wasn’t just a simple donation; it was a meaningful experience for the girls, especially for those whose personal struggles are often overlooked.

To young women growing up in a community faced with a myriad of challenges and social ills, the initiative both empowered and reminded them that they were not among those who have fallen through the cracks but were seen, valued and capable of overcoming their adversaries.

“The girls were absolutely thrilled! What a beautiful way to close off a month dedicated to celebrating and uplifting women. Thank you to all outlet donors who made this possible,” Angel Network said.

This is what making a difference where it is needed looks like. We hope these young women will now feel more confident and dignified, empowered to navigate a previously stressful time with ease – because every woman deserves to face her future without the burden of period poverty.
