If you’re in Cape Town and looking to try a new coffee spot or to find a vintage gem, a new store has opened on Roeland Street, where every little purchase significantly helps people rebuild their lives.
Cape Town, South Africa (09 September 2025) – A new coffee shop and thrift store in Cape Town is brewing more than just great coffee – it’s brewing hope.
The Hope Exchange and U-turn have teamed up to create a unique space at 14A Roeland Street in Cape Town that serves a dual purpose: providing great-tasting coffee and pretty threads while funding and supporting people on their journey out of homelessness.
Earlier this year, Good Things Guy shared how these two incredible organisations realised that by combining their efforts – the holistic social care approach of The Hope Exchange and the innovative skills-based programme of U-turn – they could have a greater impact on those experiencing homelessness in the Cape Town CBD. The result is a “super mission for good” that offers a clear path toward a better life for individuals in need.
When you grab a coffee or find a vintage gem at this new spot, you’re doing more than just making a purchase. You’re directly contributing to a system of support that includes work internships and skills training for individuals who are actively working to rebuild their lives.
