Surprise! You’re going on safari!

Cape Town, South Africa (14 September 2025) – A small act of kindness turned into a big memory this week when two German tourists surprised their Cape Town driver with a safari.

Gina and her friend had booked a trip to a reserve about two hours outside the city. Their driver, who had happily agreed to wait in the parking lot until they returned, thought that was the plan. But on the way there, they let him in on a secret.

“We’ve got a surprise for you. You don’t need to wait – you’re coming with us! We booked a safari for you, too. You are going to see the lions, too!” – Gina

They caught the moment on video (see below), showing the driver’s huge smile as he realised he was part of the adventure.

Later clips show him snapping photos, gazing out into the bush, and grinning from ear to ear as the vehicle bumped along the game drive. The three even shared a meal and drinks together before heading out.

“He was endlessly grateful and happy, he has such a good heart. Please hit me up if you need a good driver in Cape Town,” the ladies later wrote.

The video quickly made the rounds online, with people asking for his contact details so they could book with him too.

“Sobbing watching this. More people should be like this. They drive everyone to go and experience more, and very very seldom do they get the chance to experience the places they drive to daily,” one commenter pointed out.

What could have been a long wait in a parking lot turned into a once-in-a-lifetime memory and a reminder that sharing experiences is one of the simplest, most beautiful gifts we can give!
