Young ladies and woman today are faced with constant requests to ‘sext’ and send nude selfies, a group of young ladies has decided to take a stand against the boys in their school, to let them know how they should be treated and what they want from relationships, they are demanding respect!

The young ladies are aged between 13 and 14, they say that they constantly receive requests to bare all and have had enough! They are students of Stroud High School, the school fully supports their campaign.

The open letter highlights a range of issues, from body image to peer pressure.

The campaign has been seen by some of the UK’s influential woman, including Sienna Miller’s sister Savannah Miller, a fashion designer for Debenhams. She sent the young ladies a message,

” I think it is incredibly brave and strong of these young women to stand up in such a dignified way with a calm and measured approach to a very difficult moment in young people’s lives. I hope my children have the courage to stand up for respectful relationships when the time comes.

“I am sure these young women feel incredibly empowered by their letter and I hope that the boys equally feel empowered to relate to women in the way they know is right in their hearts.”

They released their open letter on International Women’s Day, a day celebrated by women across the globe.

“This is an open letter from girls and young women of the world, to help boys and young men of the world understand how their actions affect us:”

“We know that you are not all the same and this might not apply to some of you. We also know that sometimes you too feel pressured to behave in a way you are not comfortable with – we want to help take that pressure away.”

Their letter covers 4 main key points and under each point is a list of reasons as to why they ask what they ask.

  • We want to be respected and not pressured into sending pictures to you or receiving pictures from you
  • We want you to understand the implications for you of pressuring us for pictures
  • We want our relationships based on fun, friendship and trust
  • We want to feel happy with ourselves and our bodies
