The BlitzBoks return to Cape Town this December to defend their title at the HSBC SVNS, a two-day rugby spectacle where sport, music, and energy collide.

Cape Town, South Africa (13 November 2025) – The DHL Stadium is about to transform into the ultimate rugby playground as the HSBC SVNS returns this December.  Bringing with it costumes, colour, music, and world-class sevens action. The BlitzBoks, reigning world and Cape Town champions, will once again take centre stage as they defend their crown in front of a packed crowd on 6–7 December.

The HSBC SVNS is not just another tournament! It’s a spectacle. Fans dress up in everything from superheroes to safari animals, filling the stands with creativity. Between the fancy dress, food stalls, and live music, the event has become as much about the vibe as the rugby itself.

This year’s edition promises even more excitement as the BlitzBoks join seven other men’s teams and eight women’s teams in the newly revamped global series format. The competition is fierce with the matches being fast. There is no room for error! Making every try, tackle, and pass count.

SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer says the city can expect two unforgettable days.

“We know this event is about more than the rugby. Fans will experience vibrant live entertainment and the unique festival atmosphere that makes the HSBC SVNS in Cape Town one of the best live events in the country. It’s the ultimate blend of sport and lifestyle, from edge-of-your-seat matches to music, food, and culture. It’s a celebration.”

The South African squad will look to recreate the magic of last year when they lifted the Cape Town title before going on to win the overall HSBC SVNS World Championship crown in Los Angeles. Now, with the home crowd behind them, they are determined to keep the momentum rolling.

Alongside Cape Town, other global stops on the 2026 calendar include Dubai, Singapore, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Valladolid in Spain, and Bordeaux in France.

But for now, all eyes are on Cape Town. The stands will become a carnival, and the BlitzBoks aim to bring the house down once again.
