TEARS Animal Rescue’s dashing doggies hit the runway in up-cycled garments made by some SA’s top and emerging fashion designers. And for the chance to find their forever homes…
Cape Town, South Africa (26 November 2025) – The fundraising event, which took place on 13 and 14 November, drew a full crowd with two sold-out shows!
Organised by Hills, the doggie fashion show raised funds from ticket sales and auctioned garments for the rescue shelter in aid of the work they do.
A line-up of SA’s top designers transformed thrifted fashion pieces into fresh couture for the show.
Models and rescue doggies hit the catwalk in designs by Lara Klawikowski, Mareth Colleen, VictorK Couture and Me&B, as well pieces made by students from the Cape Town College of Fashion Design, Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design, and the Fashion Institute of Garment Technology.
Guests who lined the runways included some of SA’s most familiar faces, including comedian and actor Schalk Bezuidenhout who attended to support the cause.
And his highlights reel of the event was everything. It shows rescue doggies (who are all still up for adoption!) in their element, walking their looks as diligently as possible to get to the treats waiting at the end of the runway…
Plus, Schalk’s commentary is the best.
