The touring cricket team of Portsmouth University started raising funds months before their trip to South Africa and donated them to the Gary Kirsten Foundation.
The Portsmouth University Cricket Club (PUCC) were on tour in South Africa at the end of April 2017. While they were here they donated R 50,000.00 that they had raised months before their tour.
As part of their experience in the Mother City the group linked up with the Gary Kirsten Foundation (GKF) to assist needy communities along their travels. The enthusiastic group of students donated to help build much needed facilities.
The group raised funds by running marathons, cycling, swimming long distances and other events. They genuinely cared about giving back to the communities they visited. Anyone that was on the touring trip but was not actively playing spent time at local schools.

Gary Kirsten was also impressed by the dedication and generosity of the touring cricket team. He started the foundation to improve the game of cricket in townships and build the proper facilities.

Its heart warming to see what can be achieved when we work together to serve and make positive impacts in the life of others.
