Deliveries aren’t the only good things made in 60 minutes – Mrs Byram had this one in the bag!
KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (29 April 2026) – Last week, Grade 5 learners at Hillcrest Primary School were tasked with putting their creativity to the test when they were challenged to design outfits made out of Checkers paper shopping bags.
Joining in on the fun, teachers Mrs Byram and Mrs Storm decided they wouldn’t just supervise, they’d also have a go at turning trash into treasure, showing their students that fashion can live in the same sentence as eco-friendly.
“While our LEAP classes were busy designing outfits out of Checkers bags, Mrs Byram and Mrs Storm decided to join in on the challenge,” the school shared. “In just one hour, they created an eye-catching outfit that turned heads in the corridors and had everyone talking!”

In just under an hour, a masterpiece came to life, complete with pleated detailing and ornate teal floral embellishments made from Checkers plastic bags. If South Africa had its own Project Runway, Hillcrest Primary’s teachers would win.
Mrs Byram turned all the heads as she made her way down the school corridors!
Adding to the fun, the school placed an order on the Sixty60 app. The paper gown queen herself received the delivery. The driver probably had to do several double takes.
“To top it all off, we ordered a Sixty60 delivery and you can only imagine the driver’s surprise when he was greeted by such a creative masterpiece!”

“Well done to Mrs Byram and Mrs Storm for a look that can only be described as ‘Better and Better!’”
