When Sethabile Ndwandwe got lost in a Cape Town suburb, a kind-hearted stranger named George didn’t just give her directions. He stayed by her side for nearly three hours, sharing a meal and ensuring she made it safely onto her bus.

Cape Town, South Africa (19 June 2026) – If you’ve ever been in a situation where you’re navigating an unfamiliar city or place, whether alone or with someone equally lost, you probably know how impactful a kind gesture from a stranger can be.

When Sethabile Ndwandwe found herself lost in an unfamiliar suburb in Cape Town this week, it was a man named George who noticed that she was lost and helped her get to the bus station.

Sharing the experience on Facebook, Sethabile said what touched her the most was that George didn’t just point her in the right direction and leave.

“He waited with me from 14:22 to 17h00 kwaze kwafika iBus (until the bus arrived because he was worried about my safety,” she shared.

She also mentioned that George wanted to make sure no one could take advantage of her and even shared a meal while waiting.

“We even went to eat with my friend, ey this father helped me, my lord. In a world often filled with negative stories, moments like these remind us that there are still truly good people out there,” the grateful young woman eloquently reflected.

Sethabile’s heartfelt post touched many online, easily earning over 10,000 likes and countless warm comments.

One comment read:

“Oh man, may God grant him his heart’s desire.”

Another person shared their personal experiences with George:

“Ooh, he’s a kind, good guy. Whenever I see him at the Atlantis Centre, I have to greet him… he once helped me. Big up to George.”

Now that’s a wholesome timeline cleanser!

We join the masses in honouring Uncle George for recognising another’s needs and shining as an example to us all – encouraging us to be helpful, compassionate, and to spread kindness wherever we go.
