The Kolisi Foundation and Good Work Foundation will benefit after supporters raised more than R2.5 million at Steadfast Africa’s annual London gala.
London, England (23 June 2026) – More than R2.5 million was raised in a single evening for two South African organisations dedicated to creating opportunities and improving lives, as supporters gathered in London for the fifth annual Steadfast Africa fundraising gala.
The event was held at Chelsea Physic Garden on 16 June and brought together philanthropists, business leaders, partners and supporters from around the world in aid of the Kolisi Foundation and the Good Work Foundation.
The funds raised will help both organisations continue their work in communities across South Africa, tackling challenges ranging from education and digital inclusion to food security, youth development and social upliftment.
The evening’s fundraising total is also expected to grow further, with an online auction and raffle remaining open until 8 July.
While the event was held thousands of kilometres away from South Africa, the focus remained firmly on the people and communities who stand to benefit. The Kolisi Foundation, co-founded by Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, works to address some of the country’s most pressing social challenges. Siya says he wants to invest in others the same way others invested in him.
“I am not a self-made man. I am here because people invested in me. They saw something in me, opened doors for me, and gave me opportunities I could never have created on my own. Today, through the Kolisi Foundation, we want to do the same for others.”
Alongside the Kolisi Foundation, the Good Work Foundation continues to make a significant impact in rural communities through education and digital skills development. Its work includes teacher development, vocational training and programmes designed to bridge the digital divide.
Good Work Foundation CEO Kate Groch said the success of the event highlighted the importance of strong partnerships.
