The Maletsatsi Foundation is encouraging South Africans to support vulnerable children through a monthly R67 donation, proving that meaningful change can begin with the smallest contribution.
Johannesburg, South Africa (25 June 2026) – When people think about making a difference, they often imagine grand gestures, large donations or major fundraising campaigns.
The Maletsatsi Foundation is encouraging South Africans to think a little differently this Mandela Day.
Its latest campaign centres around a simple number: R67. The amount, inspired by the 67 minutes of service associated with Nelson Mandela’s legacy, is being positioned as a reminder that meaningful change is often built through small, consistent acts of generosity.
The foundation, which supports vulnerable children and young people, is calling on South Africans to consider donating R67 a month. For those who are able, the organisation suggests multiplying that contribution tenfold or even a hundredfold to extend its reach even further.
While R67 may not seem like much on its own, the foundation believes its real power lies in collective action.
“R67 is a takeaway coffee and a muffin. It’s parking at the airport. It’s the amount you spend without noticing,” the campaign explains.
The organisation looks to remind people that lasting change rarely happens overnight.
“In our home we believe in the old adage that the only way to eat an elephant, is one bite at a time.”
While R67 may seem small, when multiplied across a community of people it has the potential to change the story for children who need it most. If you want to help the Maletsatsi Foundation with their R67 mission donate by following the link here.
