The Secret Love Project aims to get yellow rainsuits into the hands of Cape Town’s homeless in the coldest stretch of the year!

Cape Town, South Africa (01 July 2026) – It’s the chilliest stretch of the year in Cape Town, and for the less fortunate who are living on the street, it is the toughest season to get through. The Secret Love Project is working to bring warmth and a bit of brightness to the homeless, as the cold weather wages on.

The organisation’s Love Challenge is back, working to get yellow rainsuits onto as many homeless Capetonians as possible!

Last year showed how much good Capetonians can do when they put their bodies to work for a good cause. The very first Love Challenge raised R209,000. It was enough to hand out 839 brand-new rainsuits to people living on the street!

This year’s Love Challenge, a 20-day push, is already well underway, with only seven days left to go!

Joining in is simple. Anyone can set up their own fitness or endurance event on GivenGain and use it to raise money for rainsuits, which cost R350 each.

People are turning their own goals into fundraisers, running a certain distance, cycling a set route, walking every day of the challenge, and asking their friends, family and followers to sponsor them for it. Every show of support turns into another rainsuit for someone who really needs one.

If you want to jump in before the challenge wraps up, there are two easy ways to help.

You can head to GivenGain and set up your own event – a run, a ride, a swim or a walk – and get your community to back you. There are only 7 more days left of the challenge. If you’d like to get involved, run don’t walk!

Alternatively, you can donate straight to the project instead. Any contribution you make, whether it is big or small, goes toward getting another rainsuit into someone’s hands.
