Robin Pieters, the Streetstylers and a vibrant cast of performers transformed the Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium into a celebration of Welsh and South African culture before the Springboks and Wales took centre stage.
Durban, South Africa (24 July 2026) – Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium was buzzing as music, dance and local flavour turned the build-up to the Springboks’ Nations Championship clash against Wales into a celebration.
The opening ceremony delivered another memorable pre-match spectacle, blending Welsh tradition with South African energy in front of a packed Durban crowd.
The performance opened with a tribute to legendary Welsh singer Tom Jones, celebrating one of Wales’ most recognisable musical icons before the focus shifted to South African rhythms.
Singer Robin Pieters made a memorable entrance, arriving in one of Durban’s iconic pedal-powered carts before taking to the stage as dancers and performers filled the stadium with colour and energy.
The Streetstylers then took over, bringing plenty of movement and excitement to the field as the sounds of Pata Pata echoed around Kings Park.
Just a week after fans were treated to another creative opening ceremony, Durban once again proved that match day is about far more than the 80 minutes on the field.

Was a great show, such a pity tickets prices were so exorbitant. Turned lots of families away. Usually bump into loads of people I know, was just not the same. the whole box next to us with prime seats closed as they didn’t want to pay the price of R3500 a ticket. really sad day for rugby as we should be filling stadiums to keep the game alive.
