The Tshilande Foundation and its partners are restoring dignity, building confidence and encouraging school attendance one pair of school shoes at a time throughout the month of August.
Johannesburg, South Africa (05 August 2026) – This Women’s Month, the Tshilande Foundation is celebrating women’s strength, compassion and leadership by bringing hope to the next generation.
Led by Mr T Tshilande, the Tshilande Foundation is launching its One Pair of School Shoes Every Day campaign, which will provide a pair of school shoes to a deserving learner every weekday.
The initiative is centred on the belief that education begins with dignity, and that something as simple as a new pair of school shoes can restore confidence, encourage attendance and inspire hope for a brighter future.
“Together with Miss South Africa Heritage and Miss South Africa Disability, we are committed to restoring dignity, inspiring confidence, and empowering our future, one child at a time,” the Foundation said.
The campaign began on Monday, 3 August, when a team from the Tshilande Foundation, Miss South Africa Heritage and Miss South Africa Disability visited Comprehensive Academic School to deliver school shoes to a deserving Grade 12 learner who had been going to school in slippers. The learner wasted no time trying on her new shoes, which immediately restored her dignity.

The mission continued yesterday at Klipspruit Secondary School, where charity members, while prioritising support for girl learners in keeping with Women’s Month, were moved by the situation of a young boy who urgently needed school shoes.
“We proudly extended our support to the boy child, restoring his dignity and reminding ourselves that kindness and compassion should reach everyone in need.”
The campaign will run throughout the month as one of the many ways the Tshilande Foundation strives to support those in need by providing essentials no one should be without.
