With her home and belongings lost to a devastating fire, a gift of just R615 can replace a high schooler’s uniform and give her the confidence to step back into the classroom.
Howick, South Africa (02 September 2026) – An ordinary afternoon turned to heartbreak for a bright student in Angels’ Care Centre’s after-school programme when a devastating fire destroyed her family’s home, leaving her with nothing but the clothes on her back.
She lost everything: her clothes, her personal belongings, and her school uniform and now the Centre is appealing to help this student get back on her feet and back to school.
“While we are deeply grateful that she and her family are safe, she is currently unable to attend class simply because she has no uniform to wear, making an already traumatic situation so much harder,” Angels’ Care said.
With the organisation’s emergency relief fund currently depleted, they have turned to their compassionate community to help raise R615 to replace the student’s full uniform so she can return to school immediately.
“We are just looking to get one of everything now to get her back to school as soon as possible.”
With just a little over R600, the community can help a resilient high school student step out of the heartbreak of losing her home and back into the classroom where her bright future belongs. No amount is too small, as even R40 for a pair of socks gets her one step closer to going back.
If donating isn’t possible, Angels’ Care has asked the public to consider sharing the story of this young person’s plight in hopes that it will reach those who can give at this time.
“Thank you for always standing by our youth in their darkest moments and helping us inspire hope and healing,” Angels’ Care thanked in advance.
