The foundation is urging communities to support organisations working with vulnerable children.
South Africa (30 September 2026) – A nine-year-old girl needs urgent support after reportedly being subjected to multiple assaults, and her situation is highlighting the desperate need for more resources to protect vulnerable children.
In a recent appeal for help, The Maletsatsi Foundation founder Tiffini Hein reflected on the reality of trying to support another child while already carrying significant financial pressure.
“I know I cannot say yes. But if I don’t who will?”
That question is at the heart of the foundation’s call for greater community involvement.
According to the Maletsatsi Foundation, the child needs counselling, assessment and a safe place to go, but finding the right support has been difficult.
The situation also shines a light on the immense pressure faced by organisations and individuals working to assist children in crisis. With limited funding and resources, even those willing to help can find themselves unable to provide the support a child desperately needs.
The Maletsatsi Foundation is using the situation to raise awareness and encourage people to get involved.
Supporting organisations that work with vulnerable children can make a real difference, whether through financial contributions, resources, professional services, or simply helping connect children and families with the appropriate support.
No child should be left without help because there is nowhere to turn. The message is to call on those who can help to help.
