There’s something special about a group of young voices singing as one, and this mass choir performance brings plenty of heart, harmony and feel-good energy.

Durban, South Africa (23 October 2026) – When children from different schools come together through music, the result can be something truly special.

A school mass choir festival brought young singers together for a performance of Toto’s iconic hit Africa, giving the familiar classic a fresh feel through the voices of a new generation.

With its instantly recognisable melody and lyrics about blessing the rains in Africa, the song has remained a favourite across generations. Hearing it performed by a large group of schoolchildren adds a whole new layer of charm, as the young singers combine their voices in a shared celebration of music.

A mass choir also brings something extra to the stage; children from different schools, each bringing their own voice, join forces to create one collective sound.

And while Africa may be a familiar favourite to many adults, watching a new generation take it on is a lovely reminder that great music has a way of bringing people together, no matter their age.

The performance is well worth a watch for anyone who enjoys a feel-good musical moment, especially one filled with young talent and the joy of singing together.
