The former Miss South Africa’s fairytale October wedding was filmed, and the video has us in our feels!  ‘In a world that has constantly taught me that I am less, you have always taught me that I am more.’

Cape Winelands, South Africa (23 October 2026) – Congratulations to Mr and Mrs ten Oever!

Former Miss South Africa 2024, Mia Le Roux tied the knot with her beloved at La Paris Estate in Franschhoek on 16 October.

The couple have been together for more than three years. Their paths first crossed in a real-life ‘meet-cute’ on New Year’s Eve at a friend’s farm. Luke had been anticipating the moment.

Before meeting Mia – who was diagnosed with profound hearing loss and wears a cochlear implant – he had researched sign language.

Later that evening, as the clock struck midnight, the friend group rang in the new year by jumping into the dam. Mia, overly confident that she’d be able to keep her head above water, jumped in with her hearing aid on. When it malfunctioned, she spiralled into a panic. Luke noticed and offered to walk her home. On the way back, Mia, still frantic and trying to fix her hearing aid, apologised to him.

‘I’m sorry, I know you’re not used to this.’

Luke stopped her there, and in that moment, she knew there was something special about him.

In sign, he said:

“Stop. You’re beautiful.”

And the rest is history, friends. Luke stood by Mia’s side as she made history by becoming the first differently abled woman and cochlear implant recipient to win Miss South Africa in 2024. A year later, they announced their engagement.

Luke proposed during a picnic with their dachshund puppy, Ada, at a golf course in Johannesburg.

Their fairytale story entered a new chapter this month, when the couple exchanged vows at a charming Winelands wedding.

The special occasion was documented by wedding videographer Jesse Rajh Films and photographed by Sanmari and Christiaan Els.

Their exquisite wedding video will give you all the feels!
