Daniel Theron is a photographer in Durban, he recently shared breathtaking images of Durban from a helicopter trip he took around the area.

Daniel Theron has been staying in KZN and slowly falling in love with the art of photography. He started in 2016 and tested his hand in a variety of different styles. He tried out beachscapes, cityscapes, landscapes, portrait, and skateboarding photography.

“I am a photographer living in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. I spent a lot of time travelling all over KwaZulu-Natal for fun and photography missions.”

He was in a pub taking images of a band when he struck up a conversation with them. Becoming friendly, Daniel received a message from one of the guys asking if he would like that chance to go up in a helicopter. This was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.

“I never thought I’d be the guy that would have an opportunity to be able to do Aerial Photography or even be able to fly in a helicopter (this helicopter doesn’t even have doors), especially all over the KwaZulu-Natal area. Yet some how, it happened.”

“South Africa is known to be one of the most beautiful country in the world, and it definitely is still living up to that reputation.”

Daniel and the pilot flew around all the key locations in the city and then set course for a flat mountain top to take a break before heading back to the airport. See the final image.
