A faux-news reporter is taking South Africa’s attention away from the water shortage and looming day zero for just a minute…
And giving us something to laugh about.
In what seems to be a comedic skit, a faux-news reporter from the “broken news” in Cape Town has a hilarious go at translating a very serious news report, from Afrikaans to English.
The reporter starts off talking in Afrikaans about a massive drug bust that has farm workers throwing in the towel to rather spend the “smoking”.
He slips up slightly with the numbers in the beginning but luckily Zuma’s “listen properly” puts him back on track.
He then moves into an English translation which is closer to gibberish than actual words but somehow keeps a straight face through the whole thing.
“Here stand I now right regions, ahhh to by the farm to by Villierdorp”
The internet can’t get enough of the ridiculous video and users have been sharing the faux-report with lots of laughs.
